ADENA – Buckeye Local West Primary School hosted their Back to School Party where students and family members located their classroom, met their teacher and learned about the building theme this school year, who is “We are on the same team.”
With that in mind, local natural gas producer Ascent Resources has partnered with principal James Rocchi to provide school supplies to each of the building’s 240 students, from kindergarten to grade six. The colorful bags were distributed to each student as they entered the building just before the welcome assembly.
“I want to thank Ascent Resources for their generosity to our students and families. School supplies can add up and create a financial burden for many of our families. This gesture has really helped our families. I heard many positive comments throughout the evening about Ascent’s donation. It’s refreshing to see a major company in our region giving back to the communities in which it works. We look forward to working with them in the future on other projects ”, said Rocchi.
The binder contained the supplies for that school year, including notebooks, glue sticks, pencils, shirts, pencils, among others.
“I really enjoyed this event” said Amanda Finn, director of government relations for Ascent. “Our goal with our annual Pack the Book Bag program was to make sure the residents of Adena and beyond know that we are part of the same team and that we are here to help and do our part to support members of the communities in our area of operation. . “
” essential, said Mike Chadsey, public relations director for the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. “It was great to see so many smiling faces, at least from the parents, as the students head back to school in person this year, and we hope these padded backpacks help you a bit.”
